Yes, and we encourage you to mix and match different tape-in styles. Superior Hair recommends  placing an ultra seamless on the bottom of your hair and then an invisi tape-in on the top for finer hair. This creates the perfect undetectable look. 

Sandwiching two Invisi tape-ins can sometimes be too thick for some as the bond has hair, making it thicker. Ultra Seamless are extremely flexible and so discreet in the hair, making the perfect blend. 

Our traditional weft hair extension is our original weft product and is machine made. Alternatively, our hand- tied weft is hand sewn with a much finer track. Traditional wefts can be cut to size, where hand-tied wefts come pre-cut. Superior Hair recommends our hand tied weft for finer hair  as it is discreet and lightweight on the scalp.

You’re welcome to send us a photo of your hair taken in natural lighting and our experts would be happy to colour match for you. Alternatively, check out our colour guide, or you can purchase both and using the test strand supplied, you can choose the better fit and return your other set for a refund.

Beautiful results are super easy to achieve with both of these methods, but the difference is in the application technique. If you love spending time doing your hair in front of the mirror - clip ins may be your best choice. If you are always on the run, try a halo extension.

20 Inch (180g) includes one halo weft plus 2 additional clip on wefts. 

• Application: Halo weft applied use a nylon wire with extra clips for security + 2 clip wefts to help blend in the hair that frames your face

• Application time: middle skill level and can be applied in a few minutes

• Hair type: suitable for thin – medium and thick hair

• Hair length: Your hair should be below shoulder-length (medium to long length).

• Hair styles: Suitable for down or half down styles, experiment with sliding the halo for one side for side braids and ponytails 

Our hair extensions are made from Remy 100% human hair, so you can style them with hot tools as often as you would style your own hair. It is super important to always use a heat protector on both your extension and your natural hair to prevent damage.

Yes! All our hair extensions are made from high-quality human hair - meaning that

they can be dyed easily to match your natural hair perfectly. While you can dye

the extensions, we recommend avoiding any chemical treatments as the hair has

been processed and sterilised.  

Try to choose a shade closest to your natural hair color so there’s no need to dye it.

If you do need to, opt for a semi-permanent color or color conditioner. We also suggest testing the dye on a few strands to ensure the final result is what you want. While you can use dye, we take no responsibility for any damage caused by dying your hair extensions.

1. Always brush your extensions before you wash them. 

2. Prepare a clean sink or bowl with lukewarm water

3. Pump 2 or 3 dollops of paraben, sulphate, alcohol and keratin free shampoo into the water and dissolve.

4. Shampoo each extensions separately by holding the bond and dipping the hair into the water. Massage gently with light strokes 

5. Follow up with conditioner on the mids and ends. Leave them on a towel for around 15 minutes before rinsing. 

6. Apply a deep conditioner or hair mask and leave them overnight

7. Rinse each extension the following morning in warm water

8. Allow them to air dry, or use heat protectant and a hair dryerRemember: always use a shampoo that is paraben, sulphate, alcohol and keratin free. Only condition the mids and ends of your extensions. Following these rules will extend the life of your extensions.

When your order has been dispatched, your order confirmation will connect you through to the courier provider, so we are not able to help much after the parcel has left our warehouse. We recommend getting in touch with the courier as they will be able to check the status of and track down parcels.

You will need to first reach out to the courier provider so they can lodge an investigation into what has happened. After that, the courier provider will let you know if your parcel is missing. If you find yourself needing to make a claim, we will help as much as we can.

Usually, a full day course is six hours long with a thirty minute lunch break. We try to schedule these courses from 10am - 4pm. Unless doing an hourly training.

Our in-person training courses take place at our Auckland salon at 201 Symonds Street, Eden Terrace, Auckland, NZ 1010.

Our hands-on training includes sectioning, application, and removal techniques using your own model or a mannequin head provided by us. We also show you colour and cutting techniques that are important for creating flawless results.

Full day training will include learning all methods of hair extension installation. All start up kits are included which will cover the necessities needed to master extensions. On the other hand, our hourly training option is concentrated to learning one or two methods and you will also need to purchase the start-up kit for each method separately.  

Yes, we do recommend only people with some experience in hairdressing take advantage of our training courses. A basic understanding of hair fundamentals is important to get the most out of these courses. 

Yes, you receive a certificate of completion for a full day training with Superior Hair.

Superior Hair online training courses comes with a starter kit with everything you need to learn the basics. For each method that you purchase, Superior Hair we provide everything that you need including all the hair and tools for every method. A training head will also provided for practice and completion of your assessment fitting. You will get an introduction to the method, consultation guides, installation, maintenance, and thorough instruction on cutting in and finishing off the look. 

If you would only like to learn a selected method, you can purchase this individually. However, our ‘buy three get one free’ option will get you the full four method training.

A hair system is created using human hair, which is then hand-woven onto a particular base of material such as lace. The base is then adhered to the individual's head with the preferred method of attachment (tape or glue adhesive), and cut and blended to make it undetectable.

Superior Hair use the highest quality premium-grade human hair for our men’s hair systems. This ensures longevity and comfort. 

No, you don’t need to worry about people being able to tell you are wearing a Superior Hair men’s hair system. We at Superior Hair strive to provide high quality hair systems which includes a seamless hair line blend that works with your natural hair. With proper adhesion and styling, no one will ever know you are wearing a hair system.

A stock hair system comes ready-made. These hairpieces all have a standard base size and length, however we are able to cut them smaller. Superior Hair has a variety of colours available including grey hair options. It’s important to note that our stock hair piece is not of lesser quality than a custom made system - it’s just a convenient option if you want something in a hurry. 

Custom hair systems are designed to your exact specification from your measures from which we use to create a template. Custom hair systems are completely customisable: from length to wave, from colour to curl. Custom systems will always be the best match for you.

With proper care, human hair systems last around six months to a year and can be reattached to the head if adhesive begins to wear.

Yes, you can shower normally with a human hair system on. However, we do suggest avoiding shampoos and conditions with sulphates or parabens as these may compromise the hair.

Our Human Hair system can be darkened and toned down but we do not recommend bleaching your system or attempting highlights. Our systems have been treated so they do not react in the same way as natural hair to bleaching products, and attempting to lighten it may cause irreversible damage.

You can use any styling gels and wax to keep your hair style intact. If you are using strong wax/oils, we recommend rinsing your hair system well when washing.

Yes, if your natural hair was growing before the system was applied, it will continue to grown under the attached system. You are encouraged to come back to the hair salon every four weeks to have the system taken off, the glue removed, the new hair that's grown underneath re-shaved and then have the hair system re-applied. However, if you are not going to the salon for regular maintenance and use the tape method, you are welcome to do this at home.

Your system will fade naturally over a long period of time, but this should be virtually undetectable unless you are in excessive strong sun, or your hair comes in contact with a lot of salt (through ocean swimming or in your shampoo.) Superior Hair recommends a sulphate-free shampoo. 

Over a long time, it will fade - however they can easily be coloured. Just avoid bleaching.

If you choose to purchase a custom-made hair system, it will take roughly 3-4 month to create from your purchase date. Once we receive it in our Auckland salon, a full fitting will only take around 2 hours. 

For stock pieces, there is virtually no wait. They are ready to go products. Our experts need to fit the stock system, make any size changes, and then it is ready to install.

You are welcome come back to the hair salon every 2-4 weeks to have the system taken off, the glue removed, the new hair that’s grown underneath re-shaved and then have the hair system re-applied. If you are using tape to secure your system, you can complete these steps yourself.

A hair system is made to be worn constantly and does no damage to your scalp. The adhesive bond method lasts up to 2-4 weeks depending on your lifestyle.

Generally speaking, yes it is. However if you’re a little bit tentative and you’re not quite sure if it’s for you and you want to see what it looks like - there are options. We can apply it over to your hair or you can start with a system that clips in (as long as you have enough existing hair for this method.)

For best results, we shave the spot where the system will be attached, making sure to leave hair where needed to create the seamless blend.

Natural shedding is normal, and shedding will vary depending on your aftercare and how careful you are when maintaining your piece. At some point, it may require a repair and we are happy to complete this for our custom made pieces. Keep in mind that the repair can only be done once, it is not recommended to have the base repaired more than this.

We use a glue called “No Tape Glue”. It’s extremely popular on the market and entirely safe. Rest assured, this product has worked for us and for years and we have had no problems whatsoever with this bond.

Our glue adhesive and tape are specifically made for the scalp.

If you are looking for a versatile, long-lasting, and extremely realistic topper, then human hair is your best choice. Synthetic toppers are still high quality, but do not last as long as human hair toppers and need more careful styling and washing. A good rule of thumb is if you are looking to wear your topper every day, choose human hair. If your topper is for special occasions, a synthetic topper may be what you want.

With proper care, human hair toppers last around six months to a year when worn daily, and up to two years when worn occasionally. Human hair toppers are an ideal option for someone who wants a hair piece that has longevity and looks extremely natural.

We recommend that you use sulphate and paraben-free shampoo and conditioner on our human hair toppers.

1. Fill a small hand sink or a large-sized bowl with lukewarm water.

2. Add approximately 2 pumps of shampoo to the water and swish around to mix.

3. Place your topper into the water.

4. Allow to soak for 3-5 minutes, and then swish the hair around in the soapy solution for 1 minute. 

5. Rinse gently 

6. Comb conditioner through the hair, starting at the ends and work your way up to the base 

7. Rinse gently

You can set it under a warm dryer until dry, or let it naturally air dry overnight.

How often you decide to wash your hair is totally dependent on you and how often you wear the topper. If you are using hair spray or other styling sprays or gels, we recommend you wash your topper once a fortnight. Remember - your topper does not produce natural oils, so it does not need to be washed as often as natural hair.

Yes, you can swim while wearing a topper as long as it is firmly attached. After swimming in salt or chlorinated water, make sure to rinse the hair thoroughly with fresh water. A conditioning mask after swimming is a great way to return moisture to the hair.

The best way to store your topper is on our foldable wig stand or metal wig stand. This will keep your topper fresher and maintain its shape between wearings. Otherwise, you can keep it in a box. Keep your wig in a clean place away from dust, sources of high heat, and excessive humidity. 

We recommended that any cutting or colouring should be done by us at Superior Hair or another trained professional.

Using hair products like hair spray is absolutely fine. Hair serum and oils, smoothening products and deep conditioning masks is recommended to maintain a healthy and long lasting topper.

Our Human Hair toppers can be darkened and toned down but we do not recommend bleaching your topper or attempting highlights. Our toppers have been treated so they do not react in the same way as natural hair to bleaching products, and attempting to lighten it may cause irreversible damage.
